Benefits of Invisalign over traditional braces

Nearly Visible

Invisalign is virtually invisible.
This means you can always smile with confidence, as compared to traditional braces where the wires and metal brackets can be seen.

Invisalign aligners are made with SmartTrack® flexible material, making it super easy to remove and put on, unlike braces which are fixed. Now, you can enjoy your favourite food any time you want.

Lesser Pain

SmartStage® and SmartForce® technologies ensure there will only be gradual and gentle yet effective teeth movement throughout your treatment, as compared to braces which may irritate and cause pain.

Lesser Doctor Visits

Unlike braces where you have to visit your doctor every 3-4 weeks, Invisalign frees up your schedule with visits to the clinic only once every 6-8 weeks.

Clearer Timelines

Invisalign treatment allows you to visualize every stage of the treatment, giving you a clearer picture of the treatment duration. Braces can only give you an approximate duration at the beginning of the treatment.

Better Oral Health

Since Invisalign aligners are removable, you can still floss and brush your teeth as per normal whereas braces may make it difficult for you to clean in between the metal brackets which can result in plaque accumulation and poor oral hygiene.

Who is suitable for Invisalign?

Both teens and adults are suitable for Invisalign treatment. Invisalign can treat most common orthodontic problems. However, your suitability for Invisalign treatment can only be assessed after examination and consultation.

What to expect on your Invisalign journey!

First visit and assessment at Smile Aveune Dentistry
During your first visit at Smile Avenue Dentistry, you can expect a member of our team to welcome you with a warm greeting. Dr. Phan will perform a comprehensive orthodontic assessment to get an idea of the state of your teeth and occlusion.

With his in-depth knowledge of orthodontics and clinical experience with Invisalign therapy, Dr Phan will customise a Invisalign treatment plan suitable for you based your conditions.

Digital Scan by iTero Element 2
Dr. Phan will create a 3D image of your teeth using an iTero scanner, a digital scanner from the makers of Invisalign clear aligners. The iTero scanner is all about patient comfort and it replaces traditional dental impressions that can be messy and uncomfortable.

It delivers a 3D digital dental impression to capture the contours of your teeth and gum structures, producing an accurate scan of your teeth within minutes, and what your future set of teeth may look like after Invisalign treatment.

Customized Invisalign treatment plan
Once you have decided on Invisalign treatment, you will have the iTero digital scan of your teeth, radiographs and photos taken so that Dr. Phan can customize a treatment plan for you. He takes pride in formulating detailed comprehensive treatment plan to ensure success of your Invisalign treatment. We will help you understand how your treatment is managed throughout the Invisalign process using Invisalign Clinchecks.

Fitting Invisalign aligners
Using modern 3D computer imaging and printing technology, a custom set of Invisalign clear aligners will be made for you. Each aligner is custom made specifically for your teeth and will gradually and gently shift your teeth into the desired place. There are no metal brackets or wires to tighten. The best part is that most people will not even notice you are wearing Invisalign clear aligners.

Invisalign for Teens and Children!

What can Invisalign clear aligners with mandibular advancement treat?

  • Invisalign clear aligners with mandibular advancement can fix class II malocclusions in growing adolescents.
  • A Class II malocclusion often occurs when the upper jaw and lower jaw do not line up. If the lower jaw is too far back (weak-chin appearance), Dr. Phan may want to move it forward while straightening your teeth to achieve the best function and facial aesthetics outcome for you. Traditionally, bulky appliances such as Twin Block Appliance and Activators are used for this purpose. However, patients often find these appliances uncomfortable and affecting their speech.
  • Using Invisalign clear aligners with Mandibular Advancement feature, we can straighten your teeth and move the lower jaw forward simultaneously thus shortening treatment duration, without the use of intrusive appliances.

A great way to get Interceptive Orthodontic Treatment (Phase I) that works. Invisalign First aligners are:

  • Designed to treat a broad range of orthodontic issues in growing children from simple to complex, including crowding, spacing, narrow dental arches, anterior and posterior crossbites and traumatic bites that injure the teeth and their supporting tissues.
  • Designed to create/regain space for erupting permanent teeth to prevent ectopic eruption or impaction of adult dentition due to lack of space.
  • Removable, making it easier for children to brush and floss.
  • Designed for comfort – no irritation from brackets or wires.

Who could be a candidate for Invisalign First clear aligners?

As children grow, their smiles grow with them. And even with mixed dentition, it may be the perfect time for children aged 6 to 10 to start orthodontic treatment. This is known as Phase 1 or Interceptive Orthodontic treatment.

At this stage, developmental problems detected early can be managed with early interceptive treatment so that they will not continue to progress and become more severe.

Invisalign First aligner treatment is designed for Interceptive Orthodontic treatment with predictable results. It provides a positive experience while addressing the unique needs of growing children.
